Almost everyone with any knowledge of the NHL knows about the playful feud between Colin McAbrams and Connor Bedard. Although, what a lot of people don’t know is that the feud isn’t so playful at times.
Colin was the first overall draft pick for the 2023 draft, which was very close to Connor’s chances.
Connor led Team Canada in points during the World Juniors, while Colin was just behind Connor.
The one thing they have tie at is their level of humbleness. For being the best in the league, the two of them are very level headed.
When the finalists for the Calder Trophy were announced, of course both Colin and Connor were in the top 3.
Throughout his rookie season, you had gotten very close to Colin, ending up in a relationship with him by the time he won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers. Being a young model at 18 years old and a life long hockey fan, it was bound to happen with someone.
It was only necessary that you were right by his side in Vegas, in a nice floor length gown, at the NHL awards ceremony.
When the time came for the winner of the Calder Trophy to be announced, Colin was stunned, angered even, that Connor’s name was read instead of his own.
He hid his disappointment and anger in a decent manner. Though he didn’t clap, he still put on a smile when the cameras focused on the two of you.
Not wanting to give up his humble image, he waiting until the two of you got back to your shared apartment to voice his frustration on the winner.
“I don’t get it.” He starts his rant, sitting down on the bed once he’s in more comfortable clothes, watching as you get ready for bed.
“Last time I checked, the Cats won the Cup and the Hawks didn’t even qualify. It shouldn’t matter that he’s a ‘fan favorite‘. He was out for a chunk of the season anyway!” Colin goes on as he lays back onto the bed to get more comfortable.
