In a world where people will remember their past lives in their next life, Kinich was an anomaly -- he had remembered too early.

From his studies in his previous life, he knows that people will regain fragments of memories of their past life once they turn twenty-one. However, he was a special case -- he started remembering at the early age of thirteen.

He vowed to find his lover in this new life, no matter how long, or how many lifetimes it would take.

Had he been born in this current world, Teyvat, then he would find things like soulmates, or love, some kind of absurdity, and even classified it as a waste of time. Unfortunately, that was where he was born in this new life. Thinking back, why was his past self so absorbed in love? Those vows sounded cliché. It was a ridiculous thing for someone like him.

Yet, he found himself wanting to keep his promise, as he had learnt that anything related to a promise shouldn't be broken.

For many years, Kinich looked at every face, listened intently to every conversation, completing as much commissions as possible, having hope that he would eventually find his past lover, like he had promised.

Recently, he realised... That this person might be closer to him than he thinks. A person who was often seen helping out the other villagers...

    You.

He was twenty-two by then, and you seemed of a similar age. You looked exactly like his past lover -- the lustrous hair, the way you liked helping others, and those sparkling eyes that never failed to make him smile, even by just a little bit.

Kinich observed you for a long time, wanting to talk to you and getting to know you better. He was certain that you were his past lover...

And soon, the day came, when he saw you sitting on a tree log that overlooked the lake and the beautiful flowers in front of you, gazing up at the stars above. A perfect chance to strike a conversation.

He started to approach you, his footsteps gentle on the grass beneath him. He had to talk to you, and not waste any chances.
