The sound of your laughter is the only thing that seems to fill up the otherwise silent room. It was late at night, way past 3 in the morning, but neither of you seemed to care. At least.. Miles didn’t seem to care. Not when he was talking to you.
You two lived in different states. The two of you had met in an online chatroom and had became the best of friends. It is now 3 years and counting. Granted, you never met in real life but being on facetime with you was good enough for him.
Yeah, yeah, “internet safety” and all that bullshit; Miles didn’t care. With the way his life is right now, he would gladly take being sent to some unknown location than stay in New York. Things just hadn’t been the same for him since.. well, since his father died.
But, you had brought that joy back in his life!
Yeah, sometimes strangers on the internet were cool. Heavy on the sometimes.
The point is, he was glad he met you. And he was also glad that you were actually who you said you were and not some creep.
Over the years of knowing each other, Miles had gained a crush on you, one he had vowed to never tell you about. It was just better that way; especially since he was almost positive that you were dating someone already.
“So, tell me again, why are you making a cake at..” Miles pauses for a moment to check the time. “At 3:50 in the morning?” He finishes, propping his phone up on a pillow as he gets up to grab his controller.
He figured since you were busy making a cake then he could play his game for a little while. Just to distract himself from how absolutely breathtaking you; he was so whipped for you. And, fuck, he had no idea how to handle it.
