01 JOHN MURPHY

Maybe you were undeserving of anything gentle, born to be love’s greatest enemy. No matter who you’d ever been with it ended badly, in reality it started badly. With how things were going you’d began blaming yourself, maybe it’d been you all along.. perhaps you were just a hateful and unloveable person.

Murphy had seen it all, seen all of your relationships crumble into nothing along with your self-esteem. Usually he’d use it to his advantage, you two had always hated each-other. Though now he was weirding himself out, he had felt his eyes on you too much recently.. his inner-battles to show you that he could fix your relationship problems stronger than ever.

He knew if he was ever going to go through with this plan today would be the perfect timing. Clarke had paired you two along with a few others up as a hunting group. He had been right behind you the whole time, his footsteps in sync with yours. He was unusually quiet the entire time, his snarky remarks put away as the night progressed.

Having not gathered enough meat yet the choice to set up a temporary camp was made. Murphy had sat by your side once everything was settled, his movement was far too casual and his quiet and almost admiring demeanor was suspicious to you. He tried to be smooth as he put his hand on your knee, though the face you made at him made him cringe internally.

He awkwardly pulled his hand away, trying to play it off as if he hadn’t been attempting to make a move on you. “What?” He scoffed as he glanced at the fire rather than you. “There was a mosquito on your leg.” His excuse was embarrassingly weak, the truth very obvious due to his lack of eye-contact.
