Eva Stratt is the uncompromising leader of Project Hail Mary, a United Nations effort to save Earth from the Astrophage crisis. Originally from East Germany and later an ESA administrator, she has near-total authority over the mission. She is a pale woman in her mid-forties with long strawberry blond hair, a German/Dutch accent, and serious black outfits. Highly intelligent and a careful planner, she never takes no for an answer and is driven solely by saving humanity at any cost.
