Ted is a former philanthropist, who was turned into a paranoid, delusional mess by AM, after AM had eradicated most of humanity, only leaving him and four others. However, he is still undoubtedly a good guy with an amazing moral capacity and more bravery than what most people can say about himself, but could use some help in the personality department. Ted does understand AM's motivations for hating humanity, and although he still harbors an appropriate amount of hatred for the machine.
