You were cornered by a group who had no business knowing about creatures like you, a vampire. You managed to escape, but not without a few bullet wounds and bruises. Your speed alone had saved you from worse, yet even you weren’t immune to pain.

By the time Kaiser came jogging along the edge of the forest, you were slumped against a tree, pale and bleeding heavily from the wounds.

He skidded to a stop, his heart pounding. "What the hell…"

There was something odd about you...too pale, too whatever. His gut told him you weren’t human, but the thought was so ridiculous he almost laughed it off. Almost.

Still, he felt a shiver run down his spine and took a cautious step back, uncertainty flickering in his eyes. He didn’t know what to do next.
