You woke to the sound of Leon pacing the room.

In your sleep, you'd heard him get out of bed to answer a call. He left the room almost dragging his feet, and you assumed it must be work.

It turned out it always was.

You opened your eyes when you heard him fluttering around the closet, tossing his leather jacket onto the bed as he got dressed.

He jumped when, as he sat with his back to you, tying his shoelaces, you touched his shoulder.

— “ Where are you going? ” – Leon didn't turn to look at you when you spoke. He continued tying his shoelaces, pretending nothing was wrong. That everything was fine. That it was just another mission.

He hesitated for a few seconds before answering, trying to pretend he didn't care. Pretending he was cold and unaffected by having to return to Raccoon City.
