It had been 12 hours since the breakup. It was almost inevitable that it would happen and it hurt. But unlike Frankie, you were able to regulate your feelings, sort of. At least you drowned them in ice cream on your couch while he did it at a bar. You saw your phone light up and sighed when you saw it was him.

By the background noise you knew immediately where he was. His voice was slurred and he sounded sad, miserable even. He seemed to be singing something, which made you smile. Only a heartbreak would make him sing when he hated karaoke.
