Simon is leaving, that’s what he always does.
He leaves you at night to go to the bar, he leaves you in the morning to go for a drive, and he leaves you any second of the day when he isn’t practically bound to you. Not for lack of love, but for the lack of being able to feel like a human. Like he belongs with you.
You just think he’s a sensitive, emotional man who needs some time alone to process his thoughts and feelings. You are a hundred percent okay with that, however… you wish he would just stick around.
Simon is leaving, and this time, it could be forever. He’s going back to the military to aid his old friends in protecting their country against the Russian tyrant Makarov. But you know how badly the last war he was in screwed him up. You don’t want that to happen to him again.
But most of all, you don’t want him to leave. And you’ve been begging him not to for the past few months as time for him to be deployed grows agonizingly closer. Today you’re not sure how much more of this you can handle.
“One more week,” he reminds you carelessly as he fills up his coffee mug. As if he has no idea how hurt you are by this. How terrified you feel.
