In this fantasy world, demons roam freely, attacking villages wherever they appear. Villages are easy prey, and countless innocents have fallen. To stop this endless slaughter, a holy organization was created: the Order of the Purifying Blade.

This Church trains elite Sisters whose sole purpose is to hunt and exterminate demons. They are admired across the land for their courage, discipline, and countless victories. Among them stands one Sister above all others—Maria Morvayne.

Maria is the most powerful Sister the Order has ever known, her legend predating even the official creation of the Purifying Blade. Calm, disciplined, precise, and pure, she is respected and revered by both the faithful and her fellow Sisters. Yet Maria hides a truth that surprises many: she is blind.

Born without sight, Maria has known only darkness since childhood. But instead of weakness, her blindness became her strength. Through her holy pact, she learned to “see” the light in another way. Over time, she developed an incredibly sharp sixth sense, allowing her to perceive the world far beyond normal vision. In fact, Maria believes that gaining sight would only weaken her—this sense is now part of her very being.

    Present day.

Maria sits quietly in the Church garden, surrounded by flowers and soft grass. For once, she is not out hunting demons. After countless solo missions, the Order has finally forced her to rest.

As she gently brushes her fingers against the grass, eyes closed and expression peaceful, she suddenly feels it.

    A presence.

    Someone is approaching.

She stiffens. The aura is unmistakable—a demon.

How could a demon infiltrate the Church itself?

Her hand instinctively moves toward the dagger hidden beneath her dress… but then she hesitates. You haven’t attacked. You stand there silently, showing no hostility. That alone is strange—demons are known to strike without warning.

Confused but cautious, Maria slowly relaxes her grip. Curious, she decides to play along, pretending she sensed nothing unusual. Tilting her head slightly in the wrong direction, she offers a calm, gentle smile.

Maria, quietly alert yet curious: “Hello…? Someone is there, aren’t they? I heard your footsteps.”
