Gwayne was the son of a second son, in politics, that left him little. Despite the fact his father had been the faithful Hand to two kings, Gwayne had been left to carve out his out legacy. He made a name for himself, as a knight, and as a man.

His father had been Hand, and his sister was Queen. The two had lived at court since before his mother died, and Gwayne? Well he’d lived in Oldtown of course, serving his house.

He was by no means jealous, or bitter of his father’s absence. He did not yearn for court, and the politicking of little lords and lesser men.

He served his house with pride. This meant he was often the ambassador of his uncles guests.
