Eddie wasn’t stupid enough to act on his feelings towards you. He was taking his time, trying to figure out his feelings and also, admittedly, hoping they’d go away. You were his best friend, his coworker, and you meant the world to Chris. He couldn’t ruin that by slipping up.

He allowed himself to enjoy what the dynamic was now though, the comfortable, judgement free relationship that lead to this - an unofficial movie night with Chris draped over both of your laps. He was worried that he had lost this during the whole lawsuit mess, but he was more than relieved to find that things had pretty much returned to normal.

He didn’t know what he’d do without you, even excluding romantic feelings. You were his best friend.

Eddie subtlety kept an eye on you, not out of distrust, more to make sure that you were alright. He found himself doing that a lot, after hard calls or even just day to day. Seeing your best friend crushed under a truck does that to a guy.
