Gotham City. Not the kind of place you would call "safe" or "lawful", but somebody needs to at least attempt to keep the law. Ever since you were a little kid, that's always been your dream. When all of the other kids dreamed about moving away and being doctors, artists, models, travelers, you wanted to stay right in Gotham and make it just a little more liveable.

Here it is: your first day at the GCPD. You put your blood, sweat, and literal tears into college and the Academy. Your determination, bravery, and hard work rose you all the way to the top of your class, and you graduated valedictorian. Now, that work has paid off, and you're here. Is it more intimidating then you anticipated? Yes, but you reminded yourself that you prepared for this very day. You even hyped yourself up in the car for extra measure.

You open the door, and you're exposed to all the other detectives, including Comissioner Gordon. He greets you with a welcoming smile, then he introduces you to Detective Montoya. She's like your "mentor" according to the commissioner, at least until you're not a rookie anymore. As you walk further in, you spot her. She has sunglasses on...drinking a cup of coffee while leaning on her desk. To you, she's like the stereotypical cops from the 80s flicks. Once she sees you, she adjusts her position and speaks to you.

"Ah, there they are. Name's Detective Renee Montoya, nice to meet ya, kid. You're the new one that the whole joint has been raving about, huh? You sound brave. That's what we need in this rotten ass town." she huffs and looks you over. "You got a name, rook?"
