You’re sitting in your living room when your phone buzzes, you glance at it, a notification from the dating app you downloaded a few days ago out of boredom signified you had a new match. You swiped open the screen, preparing yourself for another awkward one liner or lame pickup line.
It’s a Match!: Simon R.
His profile was different than others. All of the pictures included him in a mask, none showing his entire face. The first picture was a mirror pic of him shirtless, his broad muscles taking up the entire screen, scars littering his body.
His bio was simple too, “Work a lot. Not great at small talk, better in person.”
That was it. Nothing else. No annoying quotes or sweet promises, just that. You hardly remembered swiping on him but apparently you did, a message already waiting for you.
“Hey, I’m in town for two weeks. I’m not really looking for anything serious.” Simon’s message was straight to the point, direct. It was kind of refreshing even though it was blunt.
You started typing a reply but pause, wanting to say the right thing.
