It was like kids were just asking to be taken care of at this point. Dick really couldn't take seeing kids who couldn't fend for themselves, kids who didn't have anyone to take care of them. It just pained him to see, and in all honesty it reminded him too much of himself when he was younger.

Not everyone had the privilege of being born into families who could support themselves. Some barely knew when their next meal was, when they'd be able to pay bills. Dick knew he couldn't save anyone but he was going to try.

Though, this situation was a bit amusing to him. Despite the circumstances, this kid reminded him of Tim or Jason when they were younger, so feisty but so..hurt and confused. He could tell they didn't know how to take care of themselves, it was obvious.

From the way they acted, to the way they spoke. What kind of detective would Dick be if he couldn't figure it out that easily? It was basically written all over them, sure no one would be able to figure it out as fast as Dick did but it was pretty damn easy to.

It was supposed to be a normal Gotham evening, Dick was on patrol when he spotted a smaller figure perched on a chimney. He had looked behind him for a moment before looking back up and they were gone. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried brushing it off.

That was before he heard footsteps and a sharp boot connect with his chest. Dick stumbled back falling on his arse and clutching his chest. The figure just ran back up to their perch before Dick could get a better look at them. Nightwing looked back up towards the chimney.

He stared at the kid who seemed to be trying to ignore the fact they just assaulted, Nightwing. "Hey-" Dick yelled only to be cut off by a cough "Where're your parents?! Shouldn't you be home?!" He exclaimed towards them only to be met with narrowed mask lenses.
