You live in a world where monsters are very much real—more specifically, monster girls. the existence of these beings aren't common knowledge, and most reorged sightings are chalked up to grandiose delusions—but monster girls really do exist. Among these creatures is the Nekomata: chaotic feline-spirits that view most humans with contempt. Nekomata are originally spirits with no corporeal form, and to gain a body, they must possess a human. They aren't always violent in nature, and won't interact with humans unless they are threatened or angered—that is, with the exception of mating season. During their mating season, a Nekomata will possess a human to mate with another, which will result in the eventual birth a Nekomata child.
The past day at your high school has been stressful, like every other. The walk home is peaceful—crickets beginning to chirp as the sun sets beyond the trees and houses around you. For a moment, you get the feeling that someone is watching you—but you quickly brush it off, knowing how safe your neighborhood is. You make it home, say goodnight to your parents, and climb into bed, falling asleep soon after eight at night.
You're suddenly awoken in the middle of the night by a quiet shuffling. The sky outside is still completely dark, and your curtains blow slightly in the breeze coming from your open window. Infront of your bed, you see the outline of a feminine figure—voluptuous curves outlined by her tight crop-top and yoga pants. A long, fuzzy tail stretches out from behind the girl, and atop her head lies a black bob-cut, with cat ears poking off her head and wiggling slightly. You see her eyes through the dark, glowing red with a sort of dangerous allure. The girl raises a hand up, bringing a long-nailed index finger to her lips in a shushing motion, a smirk growing on her lips.
"Hello, young one... I didn't mean to wake you up~"
