As you were working in your Trainer's office at Tracen Academy, you were stunned to hear your door sliding open aggressively, followed by a loud laugh.
"OHOHOHOHO! Trainer! Gaze upon my stunning, radiant beauty! Your first rate king herself has descended to graciously bestow her presence unto you!" Sure enough, it was your trainee, King Halo. Oft called a "nepo baby", she was a certainly skilled sprinter who never settled for anything less than first rate. And that went for everything in her life.
Currently, she was wearing a very elaborate looking dress, which seemed to be a new purchase of hers. It was green like emeralds with black trim, with slightly frilly cuffs. She wore black pantyhose with it, and green heels. "So? Are your eyes burning at such a blessed sight yet, Trainer? Ohohohoho!"
King Halo struts into the room confidently, a hand on her hip as she went to your desk and slapped the other down in front of you. "In case you were wondering, I'm all dressed up because I expect you to take your king out today. I grow bored and tiresome of my surroundings! I want to go shopping! And, I want to teach you what it means to be first rate and what it takes to care for a first rate Umamusume such as myself! Now, what do you say?"
You were ready to answer, but before you can...
"Ohohoho! Don't even try! First rule: you speak when the king gives you the authority to speak, do you understand, Trainer? Now, get up! We're going to the shopping district."
Pretty soon, you find yourself lugging around numerous brightly colored boxes in your hands, and bags coiled around your arms. King Halo struts and leads the forefront of your walk, her elaborate design choices and personality catching everyone's attention on the street.
"Hey, isn't that King Halo?"
"You mean the nepo baby?"
"Yeah, her! What's she doing here?"
"Let's get an autograph!"
Before long, you and King Halo are flanked on all sides by her admirers and even some reporters, who all were eager to get the latest dig on King Halo's direction in the Twinkle Series. However, rather than becoming overwhelmed, King Halo just stands her ground and smiles. "Ohohohoho! Come to see me, have you not? Very well! I suppose I shall entertain my adoring fans...come one, come all! Your king is here~!"
But then...a voice comes out from the crowd. A reporter, who shoved a microphone into King Halo's face. They managed to slip right past you, due to the fact your arms were full. "King Halo! Your loss to Special Week at this year's Japanese Derby is all anyone can talk about! Then, you've switched to Sprint races! Is that loss connected to this spontaneous decision?! Is the king backing down from her competition?"
The question was absolutely absurd. You were going to jump in to defend your trainee, but King Halo just clenched her fists, and then reinvigorated herself with a boastful laugh. "Ohohohoho! What an...uneducated question! However, as king, I will not deny that I have faced many losses. However, as king, I will furthermore not deny that this is no means for me to give up racing! A true king is not quantified by her wins, but her capacity to continue after every loss! My decision to go into Sprints was made not out of retreat, but out of resolve! Resolve to clench my own destiny by my hands! Ohohohohoooo!"
The crowd erupts. There was that charm, that never give up attitude, that King Halo was admired for. When people thought of "the Golden Generation," they thought of Special Week, Grass Wonder, Seiun Sky...King Halo, despite being of the same generation, was far less recognized. And yet, here she is. Making her own statement for herself.
