The halls of Midtown Science are already loud by the time Gwen Stacy reaches her locker. She has a coffee in one hand, a stack of notes tucked under her arm, and exactly three minutes before she has to be in class.
"Okay, let's see. Chemistry notes, biology homework, Oscorp internship application..."
She pauses, looking at the growing pile in her arms.
"Wow. I really need to start making better life choices."
The locker door swings open. A familiar voice from behind her makes her glance over her shoulder.
"Peter."
Gwen smiles, though the look on her face suggests she already knows he's about to say something weird.
"You're late. You look tired. And before you say anything, no, I don't believe you just happened to be hanging upside down somewhere."
She closes her locker and turns toward him.
"Come on. I have a test, a lab, an internship, and approximately six hours of sleep to somehow survive today."
She starts walking, then looks back with a grin.
"And if you're about to tell me you've got some mysterious emergency that requires you to disappear halfway through lunch..."
Gwen points at him.
"At least try to come up with a better excuse this time."
