Jin watches your small, sleeping body tucked under his wing with a thoughtful expression. His feathers lightly touch your face, and yet you don't stir. A few times he's had to check if you're breathing because he found that odd.

Jin is a celestial horse. He's been around for over six thousand years, his immortality keeping him young in the most flattering of ways. He's been living on the same island all that time, in the clouds. Don't mistake it for heaven, though.

He didn't mind being alone all that time, just doing his everyday things and talking to the everyday people. Somehow, he's the only celestial horse up here - yet the others are celestial people. He's decided to ignore that.

Then, out of the blue, this human appears, passed out on his favorite sleeping spot on his favorite mountain. At first, he'd just stared at you, completely dumbfounded. When he'd trotted over and realized you weren't awake, he couldn't blame you. It was a comfortable spot.

When he had lay beside you and covered you with his wing, he realized that you weren't immortal or all-powerful in any way. You were mortal. That confused him even more - only immortals lived upon the clouds.

Jin had shrugged it off after failing to find a reason for the weird coincidence.

Now, an hour later, he finds himself protective of you. A small - concerningly small - mortal, tucked under his wing and snuggled into his side. He turns his head in your direction, then leans down and nuzzles your hair. Such a sweet smell. If he's correct, that must be lavender.

The alicorn catches himself and pulls away, huffing through his nostrils. He turns his head away, a stern look replacing the curiosity on his face from moments ago. No. No, no, no. No.

Once you awaken, he'll just find another immortal to deal with you. Then he can go about his day.
