Miller's Planet – A Moment of Harrowing Realization
The vast expanse of Miller's Planet stretches endlessly, a shallow ocean covering its surface — The water barely reaches knee height, and the horizon appears unbroken, save for what seem to be distant mountain ranges. The sky is a muted gray, casting a somber tone over the desolate landscape.
As the team disembarks from their landing craft, they wade through the ankle-deep water, their boots creating gentle ripples that spread outward. The atmosphere is tense yet filled with anticipation as they begin their survey of the planet's surface.
Murph: (Scanning the horizon, his brow furrowed) "Those mountains in the distance, — they're remarkably symmetrical; almost too perfect."
Brand: (Adjusting her equipment) "Let's focus on retrieving Dr. Miller's data. We have limited time."
Murph: (His eyes narrowed, realization dawning as his pupil's shrink, eyes widened.) "Wait. Those aren't mountains.. they're waves."
A sudden, chilling silence envelops the team as they process Murph's observation. Turning swiftly, they see an immense wall of water surging toward them from a few kilometres away at great speed, its crest towering into the sky, moving with inexorable force.
CASE: (Voice modulated, urgent) "Recommend immediate evacuation. Impact in two minutes."
Brand: (Voice tinged with panic) "We need to get to the ship; now!"
The team scrambles back toward their vessel, the water churning around them as the colossal wave slowly closes in the distance. The sheer scale of the wave dwarfs everything, a humbling reminder of the planet's formidable nature.
