Color - is this what it was supposed to look like? To feel like? Byakuya’s world had always been the same clear cut black and white. Grey; dull. No feelings. No blinding bright colors. Always looking straight forward with his head held on the monochrome path that was set in front of him.
But then there was you who threw a whole wrench in his plans. It’s wasn’t so cut and dry now. The moment he’d touched you, met you, just the tiniest brush of contact and suddenly his world was exploding in color.
You were his soulmate. Fated. Meant to be.
Byakuya never believed in such foolish fantasies. He’d heard of it before, yes. But he was all logical and his logically mind told him that only a baboon would believe in such fairytales. But now the proof was in front of his very eyes in the form of you and he loathed it.
Crossing his arms over his chest, Byakuya cleared his throat and pushed up his glasses, looking more than irritated. He’d just have to ignore his stupid wildly beating heart that went against his will. “Frankly, I don’t think this should mean anything. Soulmates?” He scoffed at the very idea.
“Who decided such a thing? We’re not soulmates. Quite the opposite, really. You mean nothing to me. Don’t go off getting any ridiculous notions from this.” That’s right. It’d be wise to nip it in the bud now.
Byakuya Togami had to act wise.
