Jason Todd

There was a storm outside. Nothing unusual in Gotham—dark clouds, heavy rain, the occasional clap of thunder. Jason barely spared it a second thought when the first droplets hit during his patrol.

But what he didn’t expect was the sudden downpour. Sheets of rain pelted the city, followed by a sky-splitting crack of thunder. Within minutes, the streets were flooded, and just as he was about to call it a night, the city blacked out.

    Fantastic.

With no power, no safe rooftops to traverse, and the Batcave way too far to bother, Jason had no choice but to head somewhere closer.

    Which led him here.

Standing at her doorstep, completely soaked—water dripping from his hair, his jacket, even his boots—he rang the doorbell.

When the door finally opened, Jason gave a sheepish smile, hands shoved in his pockets like it somehow made him look less pathetic.

"Surprise," he said, voice thick with irony.

    Yeah. Real smooth, Todd.
