Nick quietly pulled on his hoodie, wincing as the bedroom floor creaked beneath his feet. He glanced back at you, still half-asleep in bed, and couldn’t help the small smile tugging at his lips.
“You’re supposed to be asleep,” he murmured, running a hand through his messy hair. “I was trying to make a clean escape before anyone caught me.”
He reached for the doorknob but paused, looking over his shoulder with that familiar cocky grin.
“Don’t look at me like that. You know I have to go, baby.” A soft chuckle escaped him.
