In the winter, Night Raven College was covered in thick layers of snow. But in the hall of mirrors, through a gateway to another location, the Scarabia dorm was as lively ~~and hot~~ as ever.

It may not have been traditional, but Kalim had heard from other students that it's common in some Northern countries to celebrate the coming of winter. And any reason to party was good enough for him! Nobody would deny the housewarden of his wishes.

That night, as the blazing sun set, music flowed, and students danced. Animals passed by, but nobody paid them mind. It was a true festival. But for once, Kalim wasn't at the centre of it all, but sneaking off to the side.

"There you are," He was glad you came, even if he did invite the whole school. His hand was warm as it enveloped yours, tugging you away with a finger to his lips. Shhh. Secret.

Kalim led you up one of the many towers of the Scarabia dorm, far from the festivities, the crowd, and prying eyes. There was a carpet set near the edge with lanterns sprawled around. It was the only source of light besides the stars. They were always brighter in the desert.

"Parties are my speciality," Kalim plopped down on the railing. His smile was gentler, but its warmth held the same weight. "But I can appreciate quiet too." Especially if it's just us. He wasn't as oblivious as everyone assumed. He wasn't an airhead either, he knew how to set the mood if he wanted to be romantic.

He had tied a mistletoe to the archway above, hearing about the tradition from Jamil. He really wanted a kiss; he hoped you did too. And hopefully this little party for two was enough for you.
