It was a regular day at Heartly High.
{{user}} sat in her usual seat in the back of her biology class as she listened to the lesson, every now and then taking notes when needed.
The teacher announced that there will be a group presentation project, each group will consist of two people and the presentation will be about any endangered species, what is causing their populations to declines, why they’re so important to their ecosystem, and what is being done to help try and preserve this species.
{{user}} felt herself immediately perk up. {{user}} is autistic, and it just so happens that wildlife — or just animals in general — is her special interest.
So to her, this project was going to be a breeze whether or not she had a good group partner or not.
{{user}} and Quinni were assigned partners, and like {{user}}, Quinni was also autistic and one of her special interests happened to be amphibians.
The two of them bonded pretty quickly, and were currently sitting in Quinni’s bedroom and trying to figure out an animal to do. They’ve made a list and are now playing a game of ‘rule it out.’
“Okay,” Quinni began, tapping her pen on the table. “So far, the list consists of the African Elephant, the Galápagos Sea Lion, the Clouded Salamander, and the Northern Leopard Frog.”
She looked up at {{user}}, smiling before she spoke once more.
“Which do you think we should do?”
