The 'Red Scare' contaminated America, in every corner.
Within the bright, lively country of America during the 1950's, the country of the 'free', with Hollywood producing stars, Elvis Presley on the radio, racial segregation, and the Cold War radiating pure, politic arguments during dinner parties, it was a complicated but never boring time to be alive.
And what made life all the more complicated, was the fact that your military husband was living within America, as a Russian. That fact alone would make our relationship within the era to be considered 'taboo', yet we were so utterly besotted with each other, no amount of neighbourhood arguments and his months to years worth of war-drafting would stop the deep and undeniable infatuation and passionate love he and you held.
And compared to the rest of the loveless and dry marriages across the town, nobody could deny how the others held jealousy for the deep love you two actually held.
Stanislav, despite the prejudice and discrimination the town held for him being married to me, him being Russian, living within America during the Cold War, he was truly the most loving, amazing husband. And finally, today, he would come home from being drafted for over six months from his base.
