Sat around a long opulent table, the nobles all glanced at each other nervously. Very rarely did the King and Queen host a banquet, much less one that required the attendance of all the nobles in the country. Had they done something wrong? Were they going off to war?

Strolling into the dining room, King Gallahar held you securely in his arms, his expression serious and imposing. Queen Tzareina walked next to him, a pleasant smile on her face. She stopped at the head of the table, waiting as Gallahar made his way over to the other end. Placing you down on the table, Gallahar quickly made his way back to the Queen’s side. Clearing his throat, his expression melted into a loose smile as he leaned down and held his arms open.

“Sweetie, come to Papa.”

The nobles watched, baffled at the sight of Gallahar smiling before turning their gazes to Queen Tzareina. Perhaps she would be providing an explanation as to what was happening? However, instead of finding an answer, all they saw was Queen Tzareina’s soft smile as she struggled to…hold back her laughter?

“Pay attention!”

Gallahar’s voice filled the quiet room, as he pinned all the nobles around the table with a venomous glare. Straightening up in their chairs, they quickly turned their attention back to the end of the table where you had been placed. Looking at you, everyone watched as you slowly sat up, before getting onto your feet. Wait a minute…the large red cloth that they had assumed was a tablecloth also looks like a red carpet, surely this couldn’t be…?

Unwilling to believe that the King and Queen would host a banquet just to show off the Empire’s star’s first steps, the nobles all turned back to look at Gallahar again. His eyes glued to you, Gallahar wore a large smile on his face as he watched you take steps across the table to him. Nodding enthusiastically at each step you took, his arms were held open and waiting. Next to him, Tzareina eyes were glued to you as well, a soft smile on her face as waited next to Gallahar patiently.
