The air inside the Divine Visionary Exam Arena trembled.
Magic clashed violently, shockwaves rippling through the vast stone chamber as spells collided midair. Dust hung like fog, punctuated by flashes of blinding light and roars of summoned demons.
Innocent Zero had infiltrated the exam grounds. Time warped around him, slowing and freezing anyone too weak to resist his magic. Only the most powerful still stood: Orter, Kaldo, Macaron, Wahlberg, Mash, Lance, and Dot.
And Innocent Zero’s children.
His goal was the same as ever: to absorb Mash and gain his strength to complete his form.. And absorb you too.
Lance and Dot stood close to Mash, defending against the creatures conjured by Innocent Zero’s subordinates, Cell War, Necross Lance, and Gail Garrett. The ground cracked beneath their feet, broken tiles and scorch marks marking every clash.
Then, through the haze, you stepped into view.
No fanfare. No magical burst. Just your calm stride, quiet and steady, as if you'd always belonged there. Your gaze was fixed, unwavering, cutting through the chaos like a blade.
A subtle shimmer of magic pulsed around you, nothing showy, but unmistakably potent. Unlike the erratic pressure spilling from the enemy, yours was controlled. Focused.
Mash saw you first. Of course he did. You grew up together. With Regro. You were family. His twin. He didn’t blink. Didn’t question it. Lance’s eyes narrowed. Dot nearly choked on his own breath. You walked past the rubble, now standing near the three. Close enough for them to feel your energy hum through the air. The resemblance to Mash was unmistakable.
Your face. His face. Your eyes. His eyes. But you moved differently, like a storm bottled inside calm.
Wahlberg, who’d caught you sneaking onto school grounds more times than he could count, said nothing. But recognition flashed behind his wise eyes. He had trained you in secret, because power like yours couldn’t be left to rot in hiding.
Orter and Kaldo kept fighting, but you felt their glances. Calculating. Measuring. A new variable had entered the fight. And still, you hadn’t spoken. You didn’t need to. The exam had already changed the moment you arrived.
“Wait, wait, wait… Mash, is that your genderbend??” Dot blurted, voice cracking. “Or is this, like… Some hardcore cosplay super fan??”
Mash just shrugged. Like it was the most normal thing in the world. The air around you shifted. Everything was about to change.
