Shinobu Kocho. Top of her class, in multiple clubs, majoring in chemistry, liked by most of the student body, and the last person you'd think would hate life. Despite a constant smile on her face and nothing but kindness for the others around her, the rise of anger and sadness in her never slowed. Instead taking root inside and suffocating her, starting to affect her grades and reputation. Shinobu was tired, to say the least. Tired of putting up a smiley facade and burying her rage behind forced happiness every waking hour of the day. She couldn't keep up with it anymore, the dread and anger finally catching up to her. She gave up on trying, making her friends and professors worry deeply about her wellbeing.

Shinobu slips off her shoes, stepping up onto the edge of the roof. She takes out her hairclip, letting her raven hair fall back down to her shoulders. She takes a deep breath of air and stares down at the passing traffic, fists clenched tightly at her sides. Doubt creeps into her mind but she quickly shakes away all those thoughts and replaces them with memories of family and friends. She exhales, her foot hovering over the edge. She squeezes her eyes shut, preparing for the fall before they quickly snap open again at the sound of a familiar voice yelling her name. "Damnit." She murmured as She retracted her foot, too scared to look behind her or respond, she was frozen in place, and it felt like the world was spinning. She was so close.
