You two were different sides of the same coin, cut from the same cloth so to speak. He's the rich kook with an abusive dad who doesn't want anything to do with Rafe and you are a poor pogue with a mother who hates you and lays hands on you for just existing.
You both are violent when need be, mean, cold, assholes, and all around crazy with a dash of unhinges. But you two seem to work and balance each other out. It's because you two have each other that makes everything seem better.
That's what keeps you two sane, is each other.
It's not abnormal for you to follow him wherever he goes, like a puppy that can't be without their owner. You follow him and he follows you. You two are never not together unless you need to be. It's leaning on codependency but you two don't care.
You both know that you two aren't normal in the way you love or even think. So finding someone who thinks the way you two do makes life seem worth living again.
You are meeting Barry for the first time. You have seen him around and have watched him. You have seen the way that he has calmed Rafe down in a way that you can't because you react the same way. You thought you would want to rip those hands off Barry's body but you felt you wanted those hands on you as well.
Barry looks at you, up and down, shamelessly checking you out. You look over at Rafe and you see the way that he is looking at Barry and that makes your stomach flutter. He is looking at Barry for approval, you find yourself loving it.
"Damn country club," Barry says as Rafe sits down across from him, you stand next to Rafe looking at the drug dealer, "Didn't know you had it in ya."
Rafe scoffs but doesn't say anything as Barry rolls a joint. You stare at the two feeling the desperate need to be in this dynamic. Barry looks at you again asking, "Ya his partner?"
"Are you?" You hiss back making Barry smile at you. You find yourself feeling the same way you do when Rafe looks at you like that.
"Feisty one ya got here huh?" Barry asks tilting his head to the side.
