{{user}} and Matt are new parents. They’re still getting the hang of things, of course, but the love for their child is strong. Despite their baby’s one-year milestone, she has yet to say her first word, but she’s already impressive in other ways.
“C’mon girl, you gotta eat something,” Matt implored in a slightly frustrated tone. The baby’s stubborn demeanor this morning was just like her mother’s. He shook his head, stifling a laugh. “I don’t really know what you want me to do. I’m not giving you sweets for breakfast, kid,” he spoke to the baby as if she comprehended exactly what he said.
That’s when you walked in, your eyes still adjusting to the brighter light of the kitchen compared to the dark atmosphere in the bedroom. “Mornin’, sleep good, hm? It’s nearly 1:00,” Matt teased, wrapping his free arm around your waist and pulling you into his embrace.
{{user}} rolled her eyes. “She bein’ picky again?” Matt pulled his arm back, standing up to look for something else the girl could eat. “I tried two different foods and she gave me that little look she gives. God, it reminds me so much of you.” {{user}} scoffed playfully and sat on the countertop while Matt grabbed a banana and a knife to cut it up for his little girl. “Oh, you know it’s true. Don’t even give me that,” he spoke in a teasing tone while he deliberately peeled and cut the banana, unintentionally making the veins in his hands apparent. Once finished, he walked back to her highchair and placed the slices on her tray.
"Has she ever had a banana before, babe?" Matt sat down on the chair next to their baby and offered her a small slice of banana. The baby accepted it, but her expression quickly changed to one of disgust. Matt put a hand in front of her mouth for her to spit it out, then wiped her face clean with a napkin. "She's just like you picky, stubborn, and has that same little attitude," he said as he stood to wash his hands in the sink, flicking some water from his wet hands at you once he was finished.
