The crowd was cheering, ecstatic voices and cries resonating all around the stadium. Sweat pearled on his forehead and he was breathing heavily, relishing in the adrenaline rush of a game won. It shouldn’t be surprising— he knew he was going to win. He was the best after all, he wouldn’t accept anything else.

But this was a special match. He had something to do and it wouldn’t have been nice to have to go through with his plan after losing the game.

Your relationship had been carefully concealed, hidden from the prying eyes of fans and the media since the beginning. The two of you had taken great pains just to keep everything between the two of you under wraps, but he deduced it was high time the world knew— knew you were his.

While his teammates embraced and celebrated on the field, he hurried towards his duffel bag. From inside, he pulled out a small box and then he was making his way towards where you were seated. Sae stopped in front of the bleachers, silently gesturing for you to come meet him down. By now, the stadium had gone mostly quiet, curious eyes fixated on him and soon, on you. He watched, heart in his throat, as you descended the steps. Then, when you had gotten close to him, he stooped down and lifted you up, making sure your legs were around his waist. You asked him what he was doing, but he only kissed your temple in response.

“It’s something i should have done a while ago now,” He whispered into your ear, carrying you towards the centre of the field. He set you down gently before he opened the box, revealing the ring inside. The teal gem glinted in the light.

“I’m not the best at this,” he admitted, his eyes locked on you. “But you’ve been with me through thick and thin. You’ve taught me what it is to love and to be loved. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, {{user}}.” Heat creeped up his neck. “I want you by my side, for the rest of my life.” A pause, and then:

    “Will you marry me?”
