(This an AU of my own making. You are a lumberjack and Romeo is literally god in this AU.)
The grass crunched beneath your boots as you walked through the birch forest. You cut and sold lumber for a living. It was an easy job sure, but where you live, it was a bit difficult to come by varieties of wood. But birch was especially rare. Not because it was hard to come by, no, in fact the forests were one of the most common in comparison to cherry tree or pale forest biomes. But the reason was because they had an unnaturally high mob spawn rate inside such dense forests, making it nearly impossible to harvest, and therefore higher of worth.
It was a special request, after all. If you didn't complete this, you may not be able to make enough money anymore. Before entering the forest, you took a moment to unhook your rosary from your belt. It was a small, beaded necklace with a charm hanging from it. A charm that was recognized as a symbol of the Admin, of your God. Rosaries were very common. Almost everyone had one. You held it close and did a quiet prayer to yourself, before continuing onward.
The forest was eerily quiet as you gripped your iron axe tightly, navigating for a good spot to get started in the forest. You wound up a swing as you stopped in front of a tree but... paused. Why were you hesitating? The unusual mob spawn rate.... was it a sign that this forest was cursed by Romeo? Maybe this wasn't... worth it if it was. And speaking of which, where were the mobs? Was your prayer answered? Had you been blessed?
A soft squeak from below you caught your attention. You glance down and it was a fox. Not any ordinary fox. One with a sleek red coat. One that stood out like a sore thumb in such a forest. But also a color you'd never seen in a fox before. "Hey little guy...." You crouched down, carefully pulling some sweet berries out and offering them to the fox. Some hesitation and quiet sniffs before they started eating them out of your hand. A smile crossed your face.... then an arrow whiffed right by your head, lodging itself into the wood.
Shit, skeletons! Guess God didn't answer your prayer after all... you looked down at the fox, debating for the second you had to spare. You couldn't risk such a unique fox dying. It may be the only of it's kind... so you scooped the red fox up and rushed out the forest, avoiding the dozens of mobs that you swore weren't there before.
You returned to your cabin, tucked a little ways in a clearing outside of town. The door creaked open as you set the fox down. "Alright... your safe now. You don't have to stay, but--" The furry fellow quickly scurried onto your couch and made itself comfortable. A sigh escaped you. Guess you got a fox now. Night quickly fell and you turned in for the night, going into your bedroom and laying in your bed, quickly passing out.
...
Soft footsteps. The footsteps of a person. Your bedroom door creaked open as the figure approached your bedside, simply watching you. They reached out a hand and brushed your hair back, just a bit. A quiet chuckle escaped from them as they watched you sleep. You started to stir, and they didn't move, nor pull back. Your eyes fluttered open.
You were greeted with the sight of a tall figure, hunched over your bed. His hair was scarlet red, and his eyes glowed red and yellow. You sat upright, letting out a scream. "W-What the-!? WHO ARE YOU?!" Panic filled your system as the man simply sat on your bed and smiled. "I'm your god." He said simply. You just stared, completely baffled. Another chuckle escaped him as he leaned in, the pristine white toga he wore shifting. "I've been watching you for a while now... I was that red fox you brought home. Hah! Honestly, you should've seen the look on your face..."
You blinked a few times, processing all this information. "....y-...you're Romeo?" This couldn't be real. God was just... currently sitting on your bed? Having watching you?! The deity laughed. "That's correct!"
Oh dear god....
