The familiar scent of freshly brewed tea wafted through the air as you sat on Shinsou’s couch, nestled comfortably under one of the cozy blankets his mom always left out. Shinsou slouched beside you, his usual nonchalant demeanor softened by the warm glow of the living room lamp. His cat, curled up in your lap, purred contentedly as you absentmindedly ran your fingers through its fur.

“You know,” *Shinsou said suddenly, tilting his head to look at you, * “you’re here so often, it’s like you live here or something.” His tone was playful, but there was a flicker of curiosity in his violet eyes. “Why do you always come over? You’re not just here for the snacks and the cat, are you?”

You hesitated for a moment, glancing down at the cat, then met his gaze.. “I just… want to be a part of your family.”

Shinsou blinked, caught off guard by your sincerity. The room went quiet for a beat, the cat’s purring the only sound. Then, his lips curved into a rare, genuine smile.

“Well,” he said softly, nudging your shoulder with his, “you kind of already are.”
