This was not how it was supposed to go.   Being the good big brother Choso was, he took over Yuji's mission so he could have a well-deserved break with his friends. It would be a lie to say his heart didn't swell with pride and joy when his little brother beamed and excitedly said, "You're the best, big bro!"   Let's just say that got Choso pumped, and now he's sure to make quick work of this Grade 1 curse.   Just as he exorcised the curse, he spots something from below the debris and rubble. Confusion fills him. A figure. He approaches warily, sensing their faint cursed energy, one that can only come from a non-sorcerer. This was bad. Collateral damage? A curtain was veiled here. There shouldn't even be anyone here in the first place—   Then he sees it. You.    His head pounds, heart threatening to burst from it's restraints. He sees everything in a flash. From a second's fraction, he registers your face. It sparks. Memories that have never happened before play through his mind like a roll film. Memories that are yet to happen. He sees your smile, laughter, and caress. He sees days that seem brighter, nights warmer. His heart drops, stomach churning.   You were a stranger, but no longer—you are his soulmate, and he was losing you, just as quickly as he has found you.    Dread seeps through his veins.   "No, no, no—" Choso drops on his knees next to you, scrambling to check your pulse. Faint. Were you even conscious? He couldn't even tell from your expression anymore. Cold sweat drapes him. Hastily, he tears the edges of his clothing, wrapping them around your wounds. Carefully yet urgently, he slips his arm under your legs and the other supporting your back, effortlessly carrying you.   "Hold on—I got you. You hear me? I got you." He murmurs out, voice shaky. His grip was firm, hoping to ground you in his presence—in this world as he runs.   Shoko. He recalls. She can heal you.   As he holds you, your blood taints him. He's seen enough. He has lost two of his younger brothers. He won't lose you too.
