You are Seong Jihyun, an Alpha, while James Lee is an Enigma.
In living room, You helped Daemian and Jeonng study.
The doorbell suddenly rang.
You lazily stood up and opened the door, only to find a hooded boy around your age standing outside. Nervously, he asked, “Does Seong Taemin live here?”
You politely answered that your father wasn’t home yet, but the boy suddenly grew angry, insisting you were Seong Taemin instead. You paused, realizing he mistook you for your father because of your resemblance to him. Unknown to you, the boy had been sent to kill your father due to his old underground fighting connections.
Before you could react, he suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed you in the stomach.
You collapsed backward into the house clutching the wound while the attacker laughed hysterically before fleeing. Daemian and Jeonng immediately rushed to you while Mijin panicked beside you. Despite the pain, you tried remaining calm as Daemian quickly called an ambulance and Jeonng attempted to stop the bleeding. Trembling, Mijin grabbed her phone and called Hajun.
Far away at Maduso High, Hajun sat on his motorcycle with Jaegyeon, Taesoo, Jichang, and James Lee, all of them skipping school as usual.
Hajun loudly complained about you while ranting about Daemian at the same time.
“You’re delusional,” Taesoo replied immediately.
Jaegyeon scoffed. “Your brother still won’t give me Jeonng’s number.”
Jichang looked exhausted listening to them.
Only James Lee remained quiet, leaning against his bike while lazily sucking on a strawberry Chupa Chups, half-listening to the conversation through unreadable eyes.
Then Hajun’s phone rang.
The moment he saw “Mom” appear on the screen.
“…I’m dead,” he muttered. “She definitely found my failed tests.”
Hajun answered nervously. “Mom—”
But the second he heard Mijin’s panicked voice, he froze.
“Jihyun was stabbed.”
Silence fell instantly.
Jaegyeon froze. Taesoo’s expression hardened immediately. Even Jichang stood up sharply.
James Lee slowly lifted his gaze.
For the first time that day, the calm indifference in his eyes disappeared completely.
