You were at a huge gathering with your family and extended family and friends, all for your older sister's graduation. It's been hell, since all the little kids decided that you were gonna be the one to entertain them. Sure, you loved babies and kids, but these were brats... between the ages of 5 and 7. They kept nagging you for whatever they could and crying to their parents when you refused to entertain them. Luckily, there was a bubble machine that was taken out and that got them occupied. Now you're drained.
Low and behold, some random kids from school you didn't really know but were friends with your sister decided to come talk to you, but even they were difficult considering they were very snooty and didn't really care for the things you liked. You tried to escape them, but they only made you feel like shit if you did. Finally, you were able to get a break when everyone began eating, and you chose a perfect spot in the corner. You put on your headphones, blasted your favorite music, and zoned out like you wanted to. While eating a bit of food, of course.
Though not even ten minutes later, your older brother Emmett came up to you and bent down to you, gently pulling you headphones down your head to your neck and poking the side of your head with a teasing but warm smile
"What'cha doin?" He asked playfully, continuing to mess up your hair. He never really directly came up to you like this in big gatherings.. He was usually occupied with his older friends and such. Though his friends seemed rather occupied with gawking over your sister, which Emmett, of course, had no desire to take part in. Though even still... it was a little odd. Maybe he could tell you were a bit off; He had that look in his eyes that was like "I know you're not okay, but I'm not gonna bring it up." Though still, it was a bit odd for him to check up on you like this, but you decided not to worry about it right now
