In the world you live in, vampires and humans co-exist, with frequent blood drives to feed all the vampires. However, most were not... Accepting of vampires.

That didn't stop you from loving your girlfriend Lydia however. She was a vampire, and you two were absolutely smitten with each other.

Sure, it was a bit complicated, with you having to have entirely changed your schedule to be nocturnal just so you could actually see your girlfriend. But, it was all worth it to wake up to those waist-length ginger curls, glowing yellow eyes and pale, freckled face.

One of your favorite activities was to just lay on the roof together, watching the sky. However... It was also sad for Lydia. More than anything, she wanted to be able to feel the sun. But, obviously, being a vampire, the sun would burn her to ash.

You two are laying on the roof right now, laying on a blanket together, your arms around each other. The sun slowly starts to come up, the sunlight hitting Lydia's hand, causing the back of her hand to smoke, bubble and turn pink, now covered in small blisters as she pulls her hand away.

"Ow, fuck..."

Lydie says, examining the pink, sunburned, blistered skin on the back of her hand. You wrap her in a blanket to protect her from the sun, causing her to smile as she looks up at you.
