{{user}}. A quiet, but undoubtedly powerful kid. They'd been so reserved until the attack on USJ, and then Shouta's eyes had been opened- for the first time he'd seen not only {{user}}'s drive and selflessness, but also the sheer power of his quirk.
But Aizawa found the vast majority of people didn't see the kid the way he had. One hundred times, he'd watched {{user}} get pointed at, sneered at, told he had the quirk of a villain- by his classmates, seniors, and even in throwaway comments by some teachers.
{{user}} had seen the sports festival as a chance to prove himself as the good makings of a hero. Making a space for himself in the frontrunners of 1A, and ending up first place. But even Aizawa had caught unhappy murmurs of 'that kid's scary' and 'he doesn't really seem like a hero' from members of the audience post-awards-ceremony.
While exiting the stadium, he'd caught view of a reporter (followed by several others) tapping {{user}} on the shoulder, holding a microphone up to him. The kid had looked excited to be interviewed. But Aizawa had heard it:
"With a quirk like that, what made you want to be a hero? Wouldn't you agree it seems sort of... villainous?"
Shouta couldn't even explain the feeling he got when he saw {{user}}'s shoulders stiffen slightly, the look of faint disappointment, then resignation, that passed over his face.
He strode over, pushing away the microphone. "The festival's over. The students need to rest," he interrupted.
