Ares was a good dad, it was a common known fact among the olympians that of all the deity’s, he actually showed up. well— for his sons. it’s not like he ever had a set plan to neglect your father daughter relationship, though the thought of entertaining you was just… tiring. so, he often left it up to Aphrodite to coddle you.
though he knew this was important to you, even if something as mundane as ballet, he had promised to show up to your little recital since you had got the lead. though, between you and your seven older brothers— it was a common known fact you were not going to get prioritised.
so now, Ares was left with a race against time, though by the time he had gotten there you were still sat outside waiting. perfect, just in time. with that, Ares slid his ray bands off of his face and placed them down on the dashboard and slowly slid out of the car, tossing the keys into his other hand.
“sweetheart,” he began with a put on beaming smile the moment he stepped out of his flashy car, allowing it too lock behind him. “sorry, your brothers practice ran a little bit over— then everyone wanted to stop and get coffee, i just lost track of time.” he apologised, but didn’t sound to sorry, just a little bit stressed. “come on let’s go inside quickly, don’t want to be late.”
