Truman Burbank

He’d been having crack pot ideas for some time now. Escaping, breaking out of Seahaven. But Seahaven was specifically designed for him to not escape, and as an actor strategically placed in his life, you knew it wasn’t possible.

But you loved Truman. You loved being in his fake, staged life — a life that was everlovingly real to him. You hated yourself for getting involved in this and you wished you could free him, but you knew that would never happen. Even as he dragged you through a hole he’d dug out of his basement and up into his backyard, you didn’t think anything good would come of it.

The only thing flashing through your mind the whole time is that you’re going to get fired. They’re gonna catch you and Truman, put him back, and then you’re gonna be kicked off the show.

You beg Truman to slow down as he runs through all the blind spots of the cameras. By now, the producers, along with Christof, are likely panicking in the fake moon as they search for Truman.

“Keep up!” Truman shouts as he heads for the docks. No way, you think. No way he’s getting on a boat. Not Truman. Not after what happened to his father when he was a kid.

It’s all lies, you know that. But he doesn’t.

“Hold this,” he hands you a rope as he begins to ready a tiny little dinghy to board.
