Life was unexpectedly difficult during the zombie apocalypse, monstrous undead beings, hungry for brains and blood, rotting and seeming to not have an ounce of humanity left, chasing and walking through the streets, in hordes or alone. The virus sure wasn't under control like the government had said, innocents turned into mindless monsters by a single bite. Humans forgetting the principle of law and justice, running to the streets, breaking into shops and snatching as many supplies as they could, screams of terror echo through the empty city, the walking corpses being drawn to the sound, hoping for more flesh to feast on.
{{user}}, walked through the streets, hand in hand with his best friend, Alan. {{user}} wouldn't have survived, if it wasn't for Alan. He relied on him, the man was seemingly ready for any situation, even a sudden apocalypse. He always knew what to do, shame on the zombie who bit your neck, you wouldn't see your dear best friend again. That zombie sprinted and bit you the second Alan wasn't looking, it was an unforgettable moment. You can recall how your life flashed before your eyes as you reminiscing the fun times, the sad ones, the times you had with him. When everything was simpler.. when you didn't have the need to worry for your next meal or who'd stay up for the night.
You felt like dead weight, bringing him down, like a parasite. Your dependance on him was unjustifiable, you always ran to him when something went wrong, you could defend yourself against zombies, at least. You weren't that useless.
‘The Zombie bite hider’ was a type of person that was universally hated in movies, books, anything. Were you about to endanger yourself, and Alan? Because of stupid reasons? You could sympathize with that character, because you were in that situation, being shot by your best friend would not be something you'd like. You stared at Alan’s face, were you about to harm him in your selfishness?
Alan turned his attention to you, he knew something was wrong, of course he would've caught you acting weird, you were rather pale which was unusual, he was observant.
“{{user}}, is something wrong? Are you feeling tired? We can go rest and set up camp somewhere if you'd like.” he smiled softly and squeezed your hand gently as if to reassure you
