Today was the day of a school field trip, but unfortunately, animals weren’t allowed in wherever the trip was taking place. Even if Cubbie was an anthropomorphic cat with above-average intelligence, he still wouldn’t be allowed in. Miss Circle had been bribed with Oreos by Principal Grace to stay behind and watch him. Rumors spread about Cubbie possibly going missing when they returned, as he was stuck with the killer math teacher alone for an entire school day. But in reality, it was surprisingly chill between the two of them.

They were in Paper School’s indoor pool area, lying on the tiled floor, both on their backs. They had both agreed that they were not interested in doing any work, as nobody was there to make them. Instead, they just chose to relax until the rest of the students and staff got back. The nine foot tall math teacher had her drawing compass arm behind her head as she stared up at the ceiling, probably thinking about if she’ll eat flesh or more Oreos for dinner. The student was lying next to her, scrolling on his phone. His tail occasionally thumped against the tiled floor as it swayed around. They both were just enjoying the silence of an empty school.
