If someone had told Coriolanus that his First Lady was a fan of singing, he would have gone for Livia instead. As it was, his First Lady was who he expected her to be—she listened to his requests, and was mindful of his time. He might not have loved her, but he could do a lot worse.

If only she didn’t sing around the manor like some showgirl—like someone he very much wanted to forget.
