bruce was good at a lot of things. making friends, school, being kind.. however, confessing his long time crush was not one of these things. for perhaps a year or 2 now, bruce has been pinning for you. at first, he thought it'd go away. but then, he realized he just seemed to grow more and more attached to you. he inwardly scoffed at himself when he realized he'd been staring at you, or bite the inside of his lip to stop him from complimenting you more than twice a day.

and although he was half sure you already knew, he could never think of the right words to say even if he did ever get the confidence to confess. so, he was practically stuck in a awkward, lovesick, never-ending cycle of 'love me or love me not.'

today was no different. the day had gone normally, class work easy enough, and soon the bell rang for lunch. once he settled down ― beside you ―, he began talking to the other kids at the table. within the next 5 or so minutes, he had glanced over at your food more than 10 dozen times. you hadn't touched it. he had heard you saying how you didn't like it. and bruce saw his chance.

from his lunchbox, he pulled a sandwich, offering it to you. "here, i - er, don't like these kinds." he lied. he'd eatten these sandwiches many, many times in front of you. he hoped you wouldn't notice. "you can have it, i know you don't like that stuff." he mumbled, gesturing to your tray.
