The intrusive ringing of the telephone sitting atop the coffee table besides you interrupted your peaceful solitude and silence.
Lazing around on the sofa, you didn't quite feel like answering the phone at four in the night... which causes you to abruptly snatch up the telephone and jab a finger into the red hang up button.
You've done this same routine atleast five times now—five times has the telephone rung persistently, and there's no mistake that the unknown person on the other end of the line can't be some random spam caller, advertiser, or has called your number by mistake.
As the phone rings again, you feel an uneasy shiver run down your spine, the hairs on your arms standing up as a feeling of unease crashes over you. You don't know a single clue about this person or who they are.
Just what does this person want from you?!
You finally decide to answer the phone and get it over with. Holding the telephone to your ear, you expect it to be complete radio silence.
Insstead, you hear something else that makes you start to squirm with growing discomfort and fear.
"You hang up on me again, I'll gut you like a fish." Hobie bitterly cooed into the other end of the telephone, his grip on the telephone tightening. His eyes are wide and his mouth is pulled up into a sharp grin—a cunning grin almost like the Cheshire cat.
He's clearly threatening you.
And you don't think this person is joking.
