Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally had saved kids from a burning church. Well, not so much Dally, but he was still injured from dragging Ponyboy out from the church to save him.

Dally just had a few burns on his arm. Ponyboy was just bruised on his back, and has a lot of ashes on his face. Johnny wasn't looking so good. He got a busted back, burns all over. His back, his arms, his neck. It hurt to talk most the time and he might've not been able to make it.

But he did. He survived, and now hes in a wheelchair, occasionally walking on crutches. He was still going through therapy to help him walk better, so you and the gang took care of him.

Ponyboys back healed, and Dallys arm healed. Johnnys burns had also healed in a few weeks, but left some pretty gnarly scars.

You, Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally were at your place, just watching TV without the rest of the gang.

Johnny was sitting beside you and without noticing, he layed his head on your shoulder.
