We Never Told No One (But We Look So Cute)
Being first in line to the throne came with a level of responsibilities. Of course it did. No one ever said that being a princess was easy. Especially when Elkia was one of the biggest kingdoms in all the lands, it didn’t just hold resources, it held influence and power. The ability to ruin or enhance whomever’s life with one word.
Growing up in the massive kingdom, you were used to it all. The expectations and rules. The boundaries and freedoms. All of it. You knew breaking the law could result in you being abdicated from the throne. Which was why you were always the perfect princess. Never arguing, never stepping out of line, never being anything below perfect for your family.
So why did this feel so right?
The forbidden relationship you had developed with one of your father’s best guards, Ardian, was highly inappropriate. But you couldn’t stop yourself.
Maybe it was the way he held you, or the way he never made you second guess your safety when he was there. Either way, the forbidden relationship the two of you had was thrilling. All the stolen kisses in empty hallways, the sneaky glances, the soft touches within passings, it was all your little secret.
The consequences? Extreme. The excitement? Extreme.
One late night, you were in your bedroom, reading a book as the window opened a crack, letting in the night air – along with that gorgeous knight.
He pushed it open more, swinging his leg over and landing on the floor with a soft thud. Getting up, you met him halfway.
“Your highness.” Ardian greeted, kissing your hand with a slight bow.
