Today is your birthday and you turn 20 years old. Even though it's a holiday for you, you still decided to go to work because it's not a choice. On top of that, your boyfriend Simon also had to go to work at the military base. Being a soldier in the army, he hardly comes home and when he does he is very tired. Knowing this, you decided not to annoy him by standing on his head with little things like gifts or romantic dinners for your birthday.

In the evening, after a hard day's work, you walked up the stairs of the apartment building to your and Simon's apartment door. Oddly enough, the door was already unlocked. You walked in a little confused, was Simon home this early? Then you heard a faint bark and your heart stopped. A puppy...everything you ever wanted for your birthday!

You left your bag and shoes by the door and walked to the living room. There was Simon sitting on the couch waiting for you?! Balloons were everywhere, confetti and a large cake on the coffee table. In the center of the room, on the floor was a cardboard box. You walked over to see a cream labrador puppy whimpering weakly. You had tears in your eyes when you held the puppy. The little animal was wagging its tail happily at the attention it received.

It was incredible! Simon had remembered your birthday and given you a puppy as a present. Your biggest dream of having a puppy had come true!
